"The purpose of this site is to present the reasons why we should reject the proposed Trump International development at Menie Links, north of Balmedie on the Aberdeenshire coast, in it's current form."

Well the reasons for rejection stay the same - but the game has moved on. The findings of the public inquiry were to the astonishment of many a complete and utter victory for the Trump side. Despite all the scientific and legal arguments to the contrary, Trump has got everything he asked for with no extra conditions or constraints. The decision in Trumps favour is so overwhelming that even the fixers behind the scenes must be feeling a little embarrassed. We are fortunate that Trump is a man of good taste and restraint - if he had asked for a 500ft neon statue of Trump in a kilt that played "Mammies Heiland Hame" on an electronic bagpipe he would have got it.

The public inquiry took place in June 2008 with evidence given on both sides and included a tour of the site. The objectors group presented their "Precognition" (a statement from a witness) as objectors and members of Sustainable Aberdeenshire, and took questions from the panel of Reporters. The site fully supports "Sustainable Aberdeenshire" - a pressure group of concerned environmentalists, local residents and the broader community who are united in opposition to the Trump steamroller. The people of Aberdeenshire and the Aberdeenshire Council have to decide whether Menie is a national treasure which should be preserved for our children or a 'real estate opportunity' for the Trump organisation and its investors.

Why do we need this website? The Trump organisation has its professional publicity and marketing machine plus 'The Donald' himself - media star and self-publicist Donald Trump. The Trump organisation's message is that this is "All about Golf", and that the golf course will result in an economic boom for Aberdeenshire. This message has been relentlessly promoted and featured in the local and national newspapers.

But it's not "All about Golf" - it's also about severe damage to the natural environment, loss of public access, a blight on the landscape, a new housing estate and breaches of national and Aberdeenshire policies. This website is an attempt to balance the Trump view - but with honest facts, not with lies and half truths.
